Eric Brian Onono, known professionally as Riky Bird, is a Ugandan singer and songwriter. Born in Gulu, a city in Northern Uganda. Riky Bird is a rising star in the world music scene with a unique sound and infectious energy. Riky Bird's music is a fusion of different cultural elements that transcend borders and captivate hearts, drawing inspiration from traditional to modern and local to international music. Riky Bird's passion for music and dedication to his craft shines through in every word he sings. With a deep-rooted appreciation for world music and a desire to spread joy and unity through his art, Riky Bird is poised to make a lasting impact on the global music community.

Early Beginnings

Started off as a dancer/choreographer and a senior yoga instructor: 2010 - 2011 (Tosha dance crew), 2011 (Uganda’s Best dance group competition), 2012 - 2014 (Da solid dance crew at TAKS centre Gulu), 2012-2014 (Senior yoga instructor at Mandala house Gulu), 2012-2015 (Dancer & choreographer at Pine Avenue5 Gulu)

Participated in the Coca Cola rated next and Pearl of Africa star search singing contests in 2013 and 2021 respectively.

Started singing at local events and open mic events with the Northern star band from 2013.

Kick started a solo career as a cover artist in 2017 performing with different bands, Acoustic and karaoke nights.

Kick started his career as a recording artist in 2019 with his debut single Maria followed by a feature called Lacan by DG 10 (RIP) & TAD (RIP)

Breakthrough

• Released his first hit single “Amiini” in November 2023, gaining thousands of followers and views.
• Collaborated with prominent artists.
